Los Angeles based artist Debbie Bean first dipped her feet into the world of stained glass during her adolescent years. She very much enjoyed the course she took in the classic craft, but ended up gravitating towards another passion of hers: photography. Through photography, Debbie was able to capture timeless images of musicians of all statures in the city of New York. Between the clicks of her camera button and time spent alone in the dark room, Debbie would often find herself drawing to pass the time.
After spending sometime working on the road, Debbie landed an apprenticeship under a master Tibetan monk & painter. She spent a great amount of time working alongside her mentor in the Tehachapi mountains, taking in the knowledge he had to offer.
In 2014 she rediscovered her love for stained glass. In just a year, Debbie has been able to grow her passion for the art into a thriving business. She works in both traditional leadwork and copper foiling techniques, as well as mosaics. Through the hard working hours spent in her studio, she has managed to create a variety of handmade items for customers, including: gorgeous jewelry, strong & large artistic pieces, and functional home decor.
