HOLLY 'LIL BEAR' LAWSON
When Holly 'Lil Bear' Lawson originally left her hometown in Canada for Los Angeles, CA, it was to work in the music industry. While managing rappers for a bit and exploring several other career avenues, Holly took up boxing as a form of exercise. Soon, the sport became an obsession and she found herself wanting to be in the gym more often than not. Her instructor at the time noticed Holly's natural talent and encouraged her to really pursue it. So, she did.
A few years filled with intense training sessions later, Holly became the 2010 California Golden Gloves Champion. Although her first love will undoubtedly always be boxing, Lil Bear has managed to successfully cross over to the world of Mixed Martial Arts. In 2014, she became the first female MMA fighter to sign to Bellator under new president Scott Coker. Like any other job change, this transition has been full of excitement and everyday learning experiences. When she's not preparing for a fight, she's getting other people into shape and has made a strong name for herself as a personal trainer.
Through all of this, Holly has never lost sight of what she believes to be her purpose in life. That purpose is: to inspire and be a strong role model for young girls. Lawson wants the younger versions of herself to know that it is ok to dream, to set high goals, and to be different. The boxer has sculpted her life in accordance to these beliefs and hopes that her example will help to motivate others to do the same.
