When Northern California native Joseph DeLappe was a kid, the only thing that could make him sit still was art. He had no idea what he wanted to do or be, but he knew that art made him happy. Following the advice of a teacher, Joseph pursued this happiness and enrolled in college to develop his skill set. During this time, the punk rock scene was taking over the bay area and Joseph quickly became a fan. He loved the political topics that bands such as Dead Kennedys touched on and eventually decided to do the same with his pieces.
DeLappe uses various creative mediums to get people all over the world thinking about social issues. Some of these mediums include: online gaming performances, sculptures and electromechanical installations. He travels internationally to display and talk about his work regularly, as well as directs the Digital Media program at the University of Nevada in Reno.
