Street artist Royal doesn't spray paint walls just for the thrill. Nor does she tag her name on street signs simply to say she did it. She creates and paints with a purpose. When Royal became a mother, she began to to really take stock of the sexist and racist behaviors embedded in today's society. Having always used art as an outlet for her feelings, she decided to voice her concerns about social injustice with her stencils.
Whether it be in broad daylight or at 3AM when most folks are sleeping, Royal spends her free time splattering Los Angeles, CA concrete with messages of encouragement and positivity. She hopes that her images not only inspire passersby, but also get peoplee to think about present-day issues and unjustness.
