There was never a moment in which Zoey Taylor wasn't drawing. For as long as the tattoo artist can remember, art was her go-to form of expression. At a young age, Zoey's stepfather removed her family from society and isolated them in the Oregon woods. While confined, Zoey was stripped of all things that could connect her to the outside world and was regularly abused alongside her siblings. Zoey did not have much of anything during this time, but she did have her art.
When she turned 18, she was able to move to the city and really develop her passion for creating. Zoey explored several job options, but realized that due to her upbringing- she did not have the conventional education most employers required. But, one thing was for sure: she had talent. During this time, the opportunity to learn how to tattoo presented itself to her and she happily took it. She practiced a bit and hustled herself into a tattoo shop on Hollywood Boulevard.
After spending several years at her first shop, Zoey ventured out on her own and opened a private studio. It is at this studio that Zoey is able to genuinely connect with her clients and bring life to the ink she skillfully sinks into their skin. It has been 15 years since she began her journey into tattooing and she loves, learns, & lives more every single day.
Zoey is currently writing a book about her experiences as a young woman and how she was able to overcome the abuse forced upon her. With the help of her sister and the police, she has been able to put her stepfather in prison. She fights on a regular basis to improve child and sex abuse laws in the country, with hopes that the people who are victims of such conduct are given the justice they deserve.
